Another thing I don’t like by default is that control panel
content is shown as a menu, when you click on it in the start bar. So I
like to have the control panel as a link on the start menu. You can easily
tweak it with classic shell.
Step 1: open classic start menu setting.
Step 2: Click on Customize Start menu tab.
Step 3: Where it says “Control Panel”
in the display settings, select “Display as a link” as shown below. Then press
ok.

That’s it, you now have successfully tweaked Windows 8. Now you
should be able to view control panel category view windows 8.
